Sony is working on a "heads-up" technology dubbed a "SmartWig" with sensors to detect things like blood pressure and brain waves, a U.S. patent filing shows.

The wearable high-tech wig could provide a number of benefits such as allowing blind people to navigate without assistance, Sony said in its patent filing.

The patent application also said it could be useful in the gaming industry as a virtual reality device and could be hooked up to WiFi, Bluetooth and radio transceivers, CNN reported Thursday.
